CNAs & Nurse Aides in the Home Health Care Setting

So what exactly does an Ambi’s Home Health CNA/Nurse Aide do?

Our CNAs visit you in the home to help you with essential tasks needed to help ensure your health and guide you toward recovery. All of Ambi’s CNAs specialize in home health care and work under the direct supervision of your home health nurse. Typically, your CNA is assigned to you provided that your doctor has either requested or approved, a CNA for you as part of your home health plan of care. Note that not every home health patient requires a CNA. Also, CNAs are assigned to patients based on medical needs. If you have been assigned a CNA, then your CNA has a specific set of tasks they are expected to complete when they visit with you in the home. Your cooperation helps to ensure that your CNA is able to follow your specific plan of care and that you get the most out of your home health visits.

CNA work is often varied but is always specific to the need of each individual patient. Some of the tasks that a CNA may perform while in your home include helping you shower or bathe, assisting you with dressing or grooming, and/or helping you transfer to/from the bed toilet, or tub In some cases, they may also provide simple companionship while you are undergoing recovery. Once your CNA has completed their assigned health care duties, he or she may also find some time to prepare a light meal for you and/or help you tidy up around the home. Your CNA may also be able to accompany you to/from your doctor’s appointments, or even meet you at the doctor’s office depending upon the availability of transportation.

All Ambi’s Home Health Care CNAs are flexible, compassionate home health care professionals. The primary goal of every home health CNA should be to always be to ensure your safety, comfort, and well-being while you remain homebound. Please note, also, that CNAs are medical professionals whose primary job is specific to a medical plan of care If you are looking for non-medical assistance for things like running errands, food shopping, light housekeeping laundry, etc. then please call (402) 934-3441 and select Option 4 to speak with our Director of Patient Relations who can help match you with the right kind of care to meet your specific needs Or, email info@aminshomehealth.com to learn more.
